PGA TOUR: AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am
The downfall of Phil Mickelson is over after he recorded his first win of 2007 with a 5 shot victory over Kevin Sutherland. Both men started the final round tied for the lead, but Mickelson made 2 early birdies to move clear. Things changed at the par 3 5th hole where Mickelson flew the green and landed in some deep rough. Despite the search by over 30 people the ball was not found and Mickelson ended up making double bogey. Mickelson would not be denied though and with birdies on 6, 8, 10 and 11 and with Sutherland making double bogey of his own at the 9th, Mickelson was clear and on his way to victory. He ended things in style with birdies on 17 and 18 to finish on 20 under-par 268 to record his 30th win on the PGA Tour.

EUROPEAN TOUR: Maybank Malaysian Open
Swedish golfer Peter Hedblom ended an 11 year wait to win his second European Tour title with a 1 shot victory over Frenchman Jean-Francois Lucquin. At one point on the final day there were 5 players tied for the lead and another seven players were within 2 shots, but it was Hedblom that pulled out the win. Hedblom started the final round 3 back of the leaders, but got himself into contention during the front 9 and then pulled clear with birdies on 13, 16 and 17. Lucquin was not out of it and also birdied the 17th, but a 3-putt bogey at par 5 18th proved costly. It gave Hedblom a 2 shot lead playing the last and after playing what he called his best shot of the week with his third on the par 5, he also three putted for bogey, but it was enough it give the Swede a winning 8 under-par 280 total and the long awaited second win on tour.

CHAMPIONS TOUR: Allianz Championship
English golfer Mark James came back from 3 weeks skiing in the Alps to win by 2 shots from Jay Haas. James only started practicing at the start of the week, but played superbly. Both men started tied for the lead with Craig Stadler, but it was James that made the big move with 6 birdies in his first 12 holes to move 4 clear. Stadler fell away after 2 double bogeys. Haas tried his best to claw his way back in and birdied 16 and 18, but it was not enough as James held on to finish on a winning 15 under-par 201 total.

EUROPEAN CHALLENGE TOUR: Kai Fieberg Costa Rica Open
Argentina's Miguel Rodriguez claimed his first win on the Challenge Tour with a one shot victory despite dropping 4 shots in his final 2 holes. Rodriguez had started the final round with a 4 shot lead and looked to be coasting to victory when he was 5 shots clear with only 2 holes to play. A bogey at the 17th did not seem to matter, but after a poor drive at the 18th ended behind a tree, Rodriguez's second shot ended up in the water next to the green. He found the green with his 4th but then 3 putted for a triple bogey 7 to finish on 9 under-par 275. However, it was still enough though to edge out fellow countrymen Juan Abbate and Gustavo Acosta by that all important single shot.

EUROPEAN LADIES TOUR: ANZ Ladies Masters
Kerrie Webb won for the second straight week with a 2 shot victory over South Korean Ji Yai Shin. After a course record 62 in the third round, Webb started the final round tied for the lead and a birdie at the first gave her the lead she would not give up. Further birdies at 4, 5 and 7 and an eagle at the par 5 9th gave Webb a 4-shot lead with 9 to play. Amazingly Webb accidentally marked her ball on the fringe at the 10th and received one shot penalty and made bogey, but Shin though could not reduce the lead and despite 2 bogeys on the final 2 holes after short missed par putts Webb finished on 19 under-par 269 to continue her perfect start to 2007.
