PGA TOUR: Bob Hope Chrysler Classic
Charley Hoffman birdied the first extra hole to defeat John Rollins and win his first PGA Tour title. On a day when the wind was gusting around 30mph and with everyone struggling, Hoffman produced a stunning finish when he birdied the 17th and then eagled the 18th to finish on 17 under-par 343. The only one that could match his score was John Rollins who birdied the par 5 18th to force a play-off. Back to 18 they went and Hoffman found the green with his second shot again as Rollins who found a bunker with his tee shot was on in 3. Hoffman lagged his first putt down to 4 feet and after Rollins missed his birdie attempt, Hoffman held his nerve and rolled in the birdie putt for his maiden tour victory. Justin Rose had lead after rounds 2, 3 and 4, but struggled in the testing final round conditions to finish 3rd, one shot out of the play-off.

EUROPEAN TOUR: Abu Dhabi Golf Championship
Despite a bogey at the 18th hole Paul Casey came away with his first win of the 2007 season with a 1 shot victory over Sweden's Peter Hanson and Spain's Miguel Angel Jimenez. Casey had played superb all day and looked to have sealed victory until he 3 putted the final hole for bogey to finish on 17 under-par 271. Jimenez now needed to make birdie and Hanson make eagle to force a play-off, but both men found rough with their tee shots and Jimenez with his second. Hanson could not hole his third shot and when Jimenez eventually reached the green he was unable to convert his birdie putt, giving Casey victory.

CHAMPIONS TOUR: Mastercard Championship
Hale Irwin won for the first time since October 2005 when he claimed a 5 shot victory over Jim Thorpe and Tom Kite. Irwin, who played superbly all week, started the final round 3 in front and came out fast with 3 birdies in his first 4 holes to extend that lead. The rest stayed with him but after he saved par at the 13th, Irwin birdied both the 14 and 15th holes to seal victory. Irwin closed with a final round of 7 under-par 65 to finish the week on a winning 23 under-par 193 total.

EUROPEAN LADIES/LPGA TOUR: Women's World Cup of Golf
The Paraguay team of Celeste Troche and Julieta Granada were the surprise winners of the Women's World Cup with an amazing 7 shot victory over the USA. Paraguay, which only has 6 courses in the country, started the final round with a 4 shot lead. With the American team of Pat Hurst and Juli Inkster making an early charge with 3 birdies in the first 6 holes and the Paraguay team bogeying the first hole, it looked like being a scrap to the end. Paraguay had other ideas and turned their game around to card 8 birdies, including a chip-in on the 17th hole, to shoot a superb final round of 7 under-par 65 and finish on a winning 9 under-par 279 total.
