PGA TOUR: Honda Classic
On a packed leaderboard at the start of the final round, the event was anyone’s to win. Argentina's Jose
Coceres made the first big move with birdies at his opening 5 holes, but he was still unable to move clear of
the rest of the field. Coceres got to 5 under-par, but was soon joined on that mark by Camillo Villegas, who
birdied 2 of his last 3 holes, and Mark Wilson who had held the third round lead. Also on that score was Boo
Weekley until he rolled in a birdie putt at the 17th to move one clear. Weekley safely found the par 5 18th in
regulation and with 2 putts for victory rolled his first effort up to 3 feet. Weekley looked set for his first
win, but amazingly missed his 3 footer to set up a 4 man play-off. Back to 18 they all went and in fading light all
4 men made par, Wilson holing from 30 feet for his. Coceres had a chance for the win, but his birdie effort lipped
out. With the light gone, the play-off was forced to stop and all 4 men have to come back on Monday morning to
finish things off.
EUROPEAN TOUR: Jonnie Walker Classic
In an enthralling final day’s play on a tight leaderboard it all came down to the final hole with three men
still in with a chance of victory. South African Richard Sterne bogied 17 to fall back in a tie with England's
Oliver Wilson at 13 under-par, with Anton Haig, another South African 1 back after he bogied 17 as well. Moments
later we had a play-off as Haig hit an amazing second shot to 3 feet and tapped in to tie Sterne and Wilson, who
could only par the last. Back to the 18th they went and all three found the green in regulation. Sterne and Wilson
both missed their birdie putts before Haig stepped up again and rolled in his 10 foot birdie putt to capture his
first win on the European Tour.
EUROPEAN SENIORS TOUR: DGM Barbados Open
After two rounds Italian Giuseppe Cali had a three shot lead and he looked to be heading for victory as he still
held that three shot advantage going into the final 9 holes. Gordon J Brand had made an early charge with birdies
at his first two holes and made another move early in the back nine with 4 birdies in 5 holes. With Cali bogeying
the 11th and 12th, Brand had taken over the lead. Cali's hopes ended with another bogey at the 17th, but playing
in front Doug Johnson had birdied 3 of his last 5 holes to set the clubhouse target at 7 under-par. Brand was
sitting at 8 under-par now and had 4 difficult holes to play, but he was able to make par at them all to claim
the one shot victory over Johnson and his third victory in his last 4 events on tour.
