Tour Results - November 6, 2006
PGA TOUR: The Tour Championship
Australian Adam Scott won the season ending Tour Championship with an impressive 3 shot victory over Jim Furyk.
Scott started the final round with a 3 shot lead and he never let that go. Back to back birdies at 9 and 10
increased Scott's lead and when he holed his bunker shot at the 13th for another birdie the event was his. A bogey
at 16 followed by a poor tee shot at 17 gave Furyk some hope, but Scott quickly ended all that when he holed form
20 feet to save par. After finding the difficult par-3 18th green, Scott two putted for par to finish on 11
under-par 269 and claim his first win of the 2006 season.
LPGA TOUR: Mizuno Classic
Karrie Webb claimed her 5th win of the season when she came from 1 shot back to win by 4 shots from Japan's Kaori
Higo. Webb started well with a birdie at the very first hole, but followed that with 8 straight pars to still be
behind entering the final 9 holes. This is where Webb made her move and after holing from 30 feet at the 10th for
birdie, Webb continued her birdie run at the 11th, 12th and 14th to move 3 clear. Webb then secured victory with
her final birdie of the day at the par-5 16th to take her season earnings to over $2 million.
