PGA TOUR: Frys.com Open
Rookie Troy Matteson was able to hold off late charges from Ben Crane and Daniel Chopra to claim a 1 shot victory over both men and win his first PGA Tour event. Matteson birdied the 11th to take a three shot lead but by the time he reached the 14th tee his lead was gone. Matteson though played a great tee shot at the par 3 and holed the putt for birdie to move 1 clear again. Another birdie came at the 16th to keep his lead as Chopra and Crane closed in. Matteson was then able to par the final 2 holes to finish on 22 under-par 265 and claim his maiden tour victory.

LPGA TOUR: Samsung World Championship
Mexico's Lorena Ochoa came from 3 back at the start of the day to claim a 2 shot victory over Annika Sorenstam. Ochoa putted Sorenstam off the course as she holed from everywhere to move 1 clear as they played the par 5 15th. Both players had a chance to go for the green in two but decided to lay up. Sorenstam then hit her third shot just short of the green as Ochoa hit hers to around 20 feet. After Sorenstam 3 putted and Ochoa rolled her birdie putt in the lead was 3. Sorenstam pulled one back at the next when she holed from 30 feet for birdie but was then unable to reduce the young Mexican's lead as Ochoa finally 2 putted the last for par to finish on 16 under-par 272 and take the winners cheque.

CHAMPIONS TOUR: Administaff Small Business Classic
Jay Haas took the win as the final round was eventually cancelled due to bad weather. Haas had played 5 holes of the final round when play was called for the day but even if the final round had continued it was doubtful if anyone was going to catch Haas as he held a 5 shot lead at the time. Haas had shot 16 under-par 128 for the first 2 rounds and a five shot lead over Bruce Lietzke and Tom Purtzer who would finished tied for second after the cancellation.

NATIONWIDE TOUR: Permian Basin Charity Golf Classic
Brandt Snedeker won at the first extra hole to defeat Aron Price and claim his second win on the Nationwide Tour this year. Snedeker had held the lead from the very first round but went one back of Price after he bogeyed the par 5 15th hole. Still one back playing the last Snedeker hole from 15 feet for birdie to tie Price on 16 under-par 272 and force a play-off. Back to the 18th they went and again Snedeker found the green to around 15 feet and again Snedeker rolled in the birdie putt for victory.
