EUROPEAN/PGA TOUR: WGC - American Express Championship
Tiger Woods won his 6th consecutive stroke play event and his 5th American Express Championship with an outstanding
8 shot victory over Adam Scott and Ian Poulter. Woods was in awesome form all week and after opening up with rounds
of 63 and 64 no one was ever going to catch him over the weekend. Woods started the final round with a 6 shot lead,
holed nothing but still managed to shoot 67 to finish on 23 under-par 261 to take the win. Woods did finish with a
birdie at the last, his first of the week, as he had eagled the par 5 in each of the first three rounds!
PGA TOUR: Southern Farm Bureau Classic
D.J. Trahan birdied the third extra hole to finally see off Joe Durant and claim his first win on the PGA Tour.
Trahan and Durant had finished tied on 13 under-par after Durant had birdied 2 of the last three and Trahan had
saved par at the 17th by getting up and down from 120 yards. The first 2 play off holes were halved in birdies
before Trahan made his third straight birdie at the next from 5 feet. Durant still had a chance to keep things
going from just inside that, but he was unable to convert the putt to give Trahan his maiden victory.
CHAMPIONS TOUR: Greater Hickory Classic
In his 91st event on the Champions Tour Andy Bean finally got into the winner's circle when he birdied the 1st
extra hole to defeat R.W. Eaks. Bean had lead from start to finish and was only caught when Eaks birdied 6 of
the last 7 holes to force the play-off. Bean found the par 5 with his second shot and was able to 2 putt for
birdie to leave Eaks with a 4 footer to keep the play-off alive, but his putt lipped out.
EUROPEAN CHALLENGE TOUR: Kazakhstan Open
Welshman Mark Pilkington lead from start to finish, winning by 2 shots from England's Shaun Webster. Pilkington
started the final round 1 clear and consecutive birdies around the turn at 9, 10 and 11 increased his lead and
kept the challengers at bay. Pilkington then birdied the 13th to keep his lead and was able to par in from there to
finish on 16 under-par 272 and claim his maiden victory as a professional.
