EUROPEAN TOUR: BMW International Open
Swedish golfer Henrik Stenson eagled the 1st extra hole to defeat South Africam golfer Retief Goosen and Padraig Harrington and claim a stunning golf victory. All three golfers had finished on 15 under-par 273 in regulation with Goosen eagling the final hole, Stenson making birdie and Harrington making a par after missing his 12 foot birdie putt for the win. It should have been 4 golfers in the golf play-off but David Howell missed from 3 feet to join them. Back to 18th hole the three golfers went. Harrington found the greenside bunker with his second as Goosen found the putting surface some 20 feet from the pin. Stenson's second shot looked to have missed the green, but he got a members' bounce off a bank and ended up only 4 feet from the hole. After Harrington and splashed out to 3 feet and Goosen had missed his 20 foot eagle effort, Stenson rolled his short putt in for a memorable victory.

PGA TOUR: Deutsche Bank Championship
The British GOlf Open and PGA gplf champion shot an exquisite final-round 63 to finish on 16-under-par 268, two shots clear of Fiji's overnight leader Vijay Singh and eight shots ahead of third placed Brian Bateman of the U.S. Tiger Woods came out hard, taking only three holes to erase Vijay Singh's three-stroke lead, which the Fijian golfer had amassed by shooting a course record and personal best 10-under-par 61 on Sunday. Tiger Woods' first eagle came on the 554-yard, par-five second hole, where he landed on the green in two strokes, flying his approach shot over the hole's water hazard and making an 11-foot putt. "I (Tiger Woods) made a nice putt on the third and all of a sudden I had all the momentum on my side," Woods told reporters. "I didn't think I'd get it all back in the first three holes." Tiger Woods went on to say, "Vijay's not going to make a lot of mistakes. One of the hardest things to do in our sport is follow up a great round with another great round." His second eagle was on the 600-yard, par-five seventh, where Woods, leading by one stroke, again marched to the green in two strokes to massive applause and sunk another 11-foot putt.

LPGA TOUR: State Farm Classic
Swedish golfer, Annika Sorenstam produced another amazing finish to claim a 2 shot victory over Cristie Kerr. Further birdies at the 11th and 12th got her into a tie for the lead and from there on there was only ever going to be one winner. Sorenstam finished things off in style with a further 4 more birdies in the final 5 holes to shoot an amazing 10 under-par round of 62 and finish on a winning 19 under-par 269 total.

Hughes then three putted the 17th hole to give Coles the lead. Coles parred the last to finish on 10 under-par 274 and Hughes was unable to convert a 7 foot birdie to tie, giving Coles had his first win on American soil.
