Murcar Links Golf Club
Established in 1909, the Murcar Links Golf Club has seen the evolution of one of Scotland's finest sports.
Designed by Archie Simpson and remade in the 1930's by famed golf course designer James Braid, this Scottish course is
nothing short of spectacular. A vacation to the birthplace of golf would not be complete without a stop at Murcar.
A long history filled with tradition is not the only thing you will find at Murcar. This course is frequently featured
in the Top 100 courses in the UK and the VisitScotland Top 40 Great Scottish Links Collection. In 2006 Murcar Links
hosted the European Challenge Tour's inaugural Scottish Challenge. However, don't let this course's championship caliber
intimidate you. With a par of 71 and a standard scratch rating of 72, this Scottish golf course is playable by many
different golfers. Sometimes it is easier to play with somebody who knows the terrain. At Murcar, expert caddies can be
easily booked. With their intimate knowledge of the course and a little luck, you might just play the best round of your
life on this course.
Not only a "must play" Murcar is as conveniently located as it is historic. Located just a few miles from the
Aberdeen Airport, you can be from the plane to the first hole in under an hour. In fact, you can play multiple
championship courses all in one day. Murcar Links is within easy driving distance of two other major
Scottish courses.
After your round retire to the graceful clubhouse. Stepping through the doors you will feel as if you are walking back
through history. Whether it is a post game drink or more formal meal, it all can be accommodated at
Murcar Links Golf Club.
